The climbing concept is coming to Westbury Shopping Center

The Gravity Vault, a climbing entertainment concept, arrives at the Samanea New York shopping complex in Westbury.

Gravity Vault has leased 18,119 square feet of space on the mall’s second floor, where it will have climbing walls up to 45 feet high.

This will be the second Long Island location for Gravity Vault, which opened in Melville in 2017.

Samanea’s new Gravity Vault gym will feature over 300 climbing routes at all times with exterior views. It will have a cardio and fitness area as well as climbing training equipment and a retail store for climbing accessories.

“We are very pleased to welcome this exciting and nationally recognized destination to our growing roster of lifestyle and entertainment tenants,” said Dominic Coluccio, director of leasing and development for Samanea New York, in a written statement. “With the growing popularity of indoor rock climbing, I’m confident that people of all ages will thoroughly enjoy Gravity Vault, whether for recreational or professional climbing. Located on the second floor, just off 43 feet of open window space, climbers will be treated to a spectacular exterior view over 70 feet above the ground from an exceptional, newly designed open space.

Matthew Kucker, Jordan Baruch and Herb Agin of Colliers International represented the tenant, as well as the landlord, with Coluccio in the Gravity Vault lease transaction.

“The Colliers team was able to reclaim the common space and utilize exceptional ceiling height, making the site a perfect fit for Gravity Vault,” Kucker said in the release.

Mark Davidson, president of Gravity Vault, said the company is excited to expand its presence on Long Island.

“The community response to our first venue in Melville, which opened in 2017, has been tremendous and now we are excited to bring our world-class indoor rock climbing to Nassau County and Western Long Island to Samanea New York.”

The Westbury Gravity Vault is set to open next year.
